Description:

The medicine is used for treatment of high blood pressure and helps in lowering of the blood pressure. It also helps in preventing future heart attacks and strokes. The early treatment with these medicines also improves the chances of survival with the word that the patient is having heart attacks and stroke.

Interactions / Warnings:

Drug-drug interaction: TELKONOL-80H TABLET can have interaction with medicines which treat mood disorders (lithium), medicines used to treat heart disorders (digoxin), medicines like antidiabetic, even medicines which are used for treating lower cholesterol like; simvastatin.

Drug-food Interaction: TELKONOL-80H TABLET are advised not to take foods which contain salt substitutes or high potassium like spinach broccoli and potatoes as Telmisartan which increases blood potassium levels and high potassium drinks.

Drug-Disease Interaction: TELKONOL-80H TABLET , it can be affected if the disease condition may be even worse if the patients with the recent or history of heart attack, lower blood pressure. Diseases like anuria (non-passage of urine), angioedema (an allergic condition), lupus, kidney disease, liver disease.

Side Effects:

Fatigue Dizziness, Nausea, Diarrhea, Sinus inflammation, Flu-like symptoms, Upper respiratory tract infection.

How to use:

TELKONOL-80H TABLET, should be consumed with a sufficient amount of water which can be taken with or without the food or directed by your doctor. To maintain the consistent levels of the medicine in the blood keeping it long as advised. TELKONOL-80H TABLET, should be consumed as a whole with a sufficient amount of water which can be taken with or without the food. The medication should be taken strictly under doctor advised and prescribed. As the medicine contains diuretic and will make you urinate it will be better to avoid taking the medicine within the four hours before going to sleep. TELKONOL-80H, should not be avoided even if you feel well the medicine should not be stopped on its own because of the high blood pressure which may occur often with no symptoms.

How it works:

TELKONOL-80H TABLET, it consists of two types of anti-hypertensive medicines, namely: Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor antagonist) and Hydrochlorothiazide (thiazide diuretic or water pill). Telmisartan, an angiotensin which is a receptor blocker that helps to relax and widens the blood vessels ie, arteries. Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic which helps in preventing the absorption of excess salt in the body, and helps in preventing fluid retention. Hence, it helps to lower down the blood pressure and increases the blood flow by preventing narrowing of the blood vessels, heart and fluid retention. The medication works by relaxing and helps in widening the blood vessels that aids in pumping of blood throughout the body.
